Ingredients of Sajji Rice

  1. You need of rice (soaked for 30 minutes).
  2. Prepare of Water for boiling.
  3. Prepare of Whole garam masala.
  4. You need of Salt.
  5. It's of Turmeric powder.
  6. You need of yellow food colour.
  7. You need of black pepper powder.
  8. It's of garam masala/ chaat masala.
  9. It's of crushed nutmeg.
  10. You need of medium onion (cut into half).
  11. You need of oil.

Sajji Rice instructions

  1. In a big pot add 3/4 pot water and add whole garam masala, salt, onion, turmeric and bring to boil..
  2. Then add rice. And cook till rice are par boiled (3/4 done). Strain the rice..
  3. Now add the strained rice back into the pot, add oil and remaining ingredients (food colour, black pepper powder, garam masala). Cover and cook on low flame for 5-7 minutes..
  4. Now remove the cover and add nutmeg powder. Cover and cook on low flame for another 5 minutes..
  5. Now remove the cover and mix the rice from sides. Very slowly and softly. Rice are ready to serve with Sajji Chicken.
  6. Serve with Sajji Chicken in Iftaar..
